  • The River Lake Painters

    The River Lake Painters are a group of 9 traditional Oil Artists. Cherokee Arts showcased their work in our gallery in October 2012.
    • Kathy Wochele
      Now a long time Atlanta resident, Kathy grew up in New Jersey. Her focus on art got serious when she started painting with Marc Chatov in Atlanta. Her passion is painting figures and portraits, and she also enjoys painting animals and landscapes.
    • Alexander "Sandy" Turnbull
      Sandy is a visual artist currently living in Marietta, GA. He predominantly paints portraits and landscapes and his preferred medium is pastels, though you can find his work in oil and charcoal.
    • Terry E. Powers of Powers Studio
      Terry Powers' influences stem from his youth as a military brat where he was influenced by Southern relatives and living in the Far East. Winner of many awards, he paints still life and landscapes in oils and pastels.
    • Katherine S. Norris
      Katherine Norris' interest in people led her to portrait painting more than 25 years ago. Her goal is to always capture the fleeting expression that escapes the camera but mirrors the soul of her subject.
    • Nancy Lewis
      Nancy Lewis is an Atlanta-based painter who's study of the "Greats" in Europe led to her love of painting People, Landscape and Things. Her work is known for its distinctive ethereal, dreamlike quality.
    • Timothy Beacham
      Atlanta native Timothy Beacham exhibited a talent for art from early childhood. He now works in oil on canvas and paints still life, landscapes, figurative portraits and other styles.
    • Jennifer Stewart Day
      A Savannah, GA native, Jennifer is known for her artwork and designs for rugs, textile and accessories. Her talent in both the visual and tactile arts has been recognized worldwide.
    • Karen Bradshaw
      A resident of Marietta, GA, Karen is a versatile painter who works in watercolor and oil. She particularly enjoys painting figures and creating composite paintings. Her work appears in private collections around the world.
    • Mary L. Kapuscinski
      Mary holds a BFA in Fashion Illustration, Drawing, Painting and Art Education from the University of Dayton and the Dayton Art Institute. She is an extremely talented and experienced art instructor.
